ABOUT ALESSANDRA
Alessandra Pace is a self-taught Italian photographer whose work explores intimacy, the body, and the unspoken narratives of rural life. Rooted in her native region of Abruzzo, she began working with analog photography in 2012, embracing a raw, sincere, and deliberately imperfect aesthetic. Her images blend documentary and erotic elements, offering a deeply personal and distinctly feminine perspective.
Her major projects include Smalltown Girls, a visual diary of provincial youth; Over 35 Beauty, celebrating mature female identity; and BDSM in the Smalltown, an intimate portrayal of alternative sexuality in small communities. In 2017, she founded Badseedzine, a contemporary erotic art magazine, which she directed until April 2025.
Her work has been exhibited in Italy and abroad, including at Fotografia Europea (Reggio Emilia), Dr Fake Cabinet (Turin), and XPIZZA (New York City). In 2023, her project Ocean/Atmosphere became part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Avant-garde (Mendrisio), where she was also a finalist for the Nobuyoshi Araki MA-g Awards.
